We can repair your ABS/VSA module in your Honda Civic, Accord or CR-V.
Honda, like a lot of othe rmanufacturers
are suffering with a common defect inside the ABS module which causes the ABS/VSA warning lights to illuminate. Not
only is this an MOT fail but it also reduces the saftey of the vehicle.
This usually results in a fault code of 66-1 being stored
in the ABS/VSA module occasionally accompanied by an 84-1 code.
Honda did extend the warranty period for this fault
but it doesn't cover the majority of vehicles out there and the Honda UK solution is to sell you a new module at well over £1000.
We can now repair your vehicle using brand new parts without having to send the module away and can usually complete the work
in half a day meaning less incovenince than most repairers.
At £450 fully inclusive this is considerably less than Honda.
We have repaired Accords, Civics and CRVs with this problem. For more information please get in touch.
Another new investment to replace an older Asian specific diagnostic tool means we keep ahead of our local competition yet again.
The G-Scan covers the full range of Asian (Japanese, Korean & Chinese) vehicles along with others and has the same OEM software as used by
Hyundai & Kia dealer franchises.
Our continued investment in equipment was highlighted recently with a customer who had an SRS fault
on his 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and despite going to two other garages first, could not get a successful diagnosis of the problem.
Using our experience and equipment we were able to diagnose an internal fault in the SRS control unit. A replacement was sourced and fitted
and the fault rectified. It now meant the customer could at last get his vehicle MOT tested!
So if you have an asian vehicle in need of some diagnostic investigation then try us first to save you wasted trips to other garages.
We are pleased to announce that Sean Connelly & his partner Louise Howarth will be taking part in their
11th consecutive Great North Run on Sunday 18th September. They will be aiming to raise as much money as
they can for Parkinsons UK to help them to not only provide a cure for the diease but to improve the support to people living with the condition.
The Great North Run is the world's busiest half marathon with other 54,000 runners taking part most of
whom help to raise millions of pounds for all different charities.
The 13.1 miles stretch from the centre of Newcastle all the way through Gateshead finishing on the sea front
at South Shields.
They are very grateful of all donations no matter how big or small. You can help them along by donating online
on their web page on the Just Giving website (click on the donate button to the right).

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) have now approved the use of our recently installed Automated Test Lane for MOT
Class IV MOT testing. This is good news as we have been down to one MOT test bay for a couple of months since we took
the decision to replace our oldest MOT test bay with the very latest test equipment supplied by
Crypton Technology.
To ensure that we met the very latest VOSA standards we have had to make some significant changes to the workshop in
order for the new equipment to be installed.
This new equpiment includes a scissor style vehicle lift (as can be seen in the photo) that provides less obstruction
than the more traditional 4 post style vehicle lift. It also incorporates the very latest hydraulic shaker plates
to help the tester identify all possible areas of wear & play in a vehicle's front suspension and steering system
to ensure vehicles are safe and secure.
There is also a new automated brake tester that guides the operator through the test sequence to ensure reliable and
consistent readings are taken. It weighs each vehicle so that it can correctly calculate the brake efficiency
of every vehicle tested. The brake tester can also be used to test the brakes on motorcylces so we hope to be
able to carry out Motorcycle Class I MOT testing in the very near future.
We have recently taken delivery of the very latest tyre changer and wheel balancer.
These two new pieces of equipment will allow us to fit tyres to a wide vareity of vehicles including
those fitted with ultra low profile tyres. This includes run flat tyres fitted to an increasing
number of vehicles from the likes of BMW, Mercedes, Mini, etc.
These tyres have very stiff sidewalls and the new Hofmann Megamount tyre changer has two additional
arms to help the operator to safely remove and fit these tyres without damaging the tyre or alloy wheel.
The tyre changer is capable of working with wheels up to 24 inches in diameter
The new computerised wheel balance will ensure optimum placement of weights around the wheel rim
to ensure the best balance possible once the new tyre is fitted.
We have access to a whole range of tyre makes and sizes usually available on next day delivery
so why not give us a call now for a quote. Don't forget, by the time your tyre has worn down to
the 1.6mm legal limit, the stopping distance in the wet will have increased by over 35%! For further
information on stopping distances have a look at this ROSPA
article.
Winter has well and truly come early in the Macclesfield area. If you rely on your car to get you places then we would
seriously recommend you fit winter grade tyres to your car.
Normal tyres we use on our cars in the UK are fine for most
of the year but as soon as the temperature drops consistenly below 7C then the rubber compound used just
does not offer the same level of grip regardless of whether its just wet, icy or snowy.
Winter grade tyres are designed to work at these lower tyres and because of their superior grip levels in cold conditions
(and not just snow) a number of European countries legally require drivers to use them. The slightly chunkier tread also helps cut through snow and slush.
We are convinced by the extra level of safety they offer the driver and help ensure you keep moving when the conditions
are poor.
Therefore, we are pleased to be able to supply and fit a full range of winter tyres to your vehicle. Please call us today for a quote. We will also include a free winter check of your car with every set of tyres purchased.
We are please to annouce that following a recent Mystery Shop carried out on behalf of East Cheshire Trading Standards
as part of the Approved Workshop Scheme, Macclesfield MOT & Service Centre
received a score of 96% and came second overall out of all the member garages.
This is a testament to the pride and comittment that all our employees take from everyone in the office to the
technicians in the workshop. We are proud to have such people working for us.
As part of the Mystsery Shop process a vehicle is presented to us for a service in which five faults have been placed
by the engineers at Acorn Management Associates who run the mystery
shops on behalf of Trading Standards. All of these five faults were correctly identified and rectified by our technicians.
Correctly servicing the car is only part of the process. From the moment contact is first made by telephone to the moment the
mystery shopper collects the vehicle and drives away from our garage we are being inspected.
Once again its proof that our committment to a high level of customer service for all new and existing customers
helps sets us out from the crowd.
